ADMISSIONS POLICY AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Children
are admitted to Patuxent Montessori School without regard to race,
sex, color, religion, national origin or ethnic background.
All children are admitted on a probationary basis.
To enroll a child at Patuxent Montessori School, please contact
the school for an application and then submit the application with
the non-refundable application fee. Upon receiving the application,
parent(s) or guardian(s) must attend an introductory parent education
session.
Toddler Community:
an admissions interview for the child and parents is conducted at
the school with the Toddler Director and Administrator.
Child must be between 18-21 months upon entering, and completely
weaned,and using cloth training pants.
Primary Program: an admission interview for
the parent(s) and child is scheduled with the Administartor and
the Primary Director/Directress at the school. Children
enter the primary program between the ages of 2 years, 9 months
to 3 years of age. Child must also be able to use
the bathroom without adult assistance.
Elementary Program: An admission interview includes a
visit to the classroom for the child; and a parent interview with
the Administrator.
Elementary Program: Child must be 6 years of age by August
31st. Grade placement is based upon age as of September 1.
Acceptance is based on the parents' long term commitment to completion
of the full Montessori program, parents' willingness to learn about
Montessori and implement the principles at home, as well as the
interview. Parents must attend parent information meetings.
Patuxent Montessori School is unable to offer educational services
for children with special needs at this time. For more information
