ABOUT US

Patuxent Montessori School is a not-for-profit private Montessori school governed by a Board of Directors composed of the Educational Director and the Business Manager. Offering programs for children, 1½ to 12 years old, the school meets the needs of the child in these stages of development.

Patuxent Montessori School provides an environment for learning with a staff chosen for their training, experience, and sensitivity to children.  All Directresses/ors are A.M.I Montessori trained, and are either college graduates or have equivalent academic training.  All Patuxent Montessori School directresses/ors are required to attend at least one professional workshop during the year. All staff members have CPR and First Aid training.

Patuxent Montessori School is recognized by the Association Montessori International (A.M.I.). The toddler,  primary, and elementary programs are registered and accredited by the State of Maryland, Department of Education.  The childcare programs are also licensed by the Maryland State Department of Human Resources.
